Every so often, some curiosity will possess me to type in the old hashtag for my only genuine political affiliation. It’s a hallowed chasm that gives off an impression like a graveyard of a failed political movement, but with a closer look it takes on a zombie-like quality. I want to cherish this hideaway of Twitter, before something happens as it usually does and all of the posts are swept away, impossible to find. This is my anthology of NiceRx.
NiceRx is NRx, but nice. What is NRx? Well, it’s also known by other names, like the Dark Enlightenment, and it’s broadly a neo-reactionary political ideology. It should be said that none of these have any kind of definition or solid form to adhere to, but it is nonetheless slandered as racist and whatnot by inventive journalists mining for clicks. This forms a big part of my motivation to document NiceRx, before it may suffer the same fate. Meta Nomad described it succinctly in 2018:
NiceRx exists because ‘meanness’ is inherent within NRx. Why? Because what was once considered ‘civilization’ is of course going to seem mean, contrarian and brutal in relation to the infantile patheticism that is liberal democracy.
As the usual disclaimer goes, I have my own idea and notion about what NiceRx is. I don’t reject democracy wholesale, I don’t have a fascination with eugenics, you know. My thought is that the power of the people is an inherent thing to societies, not some new invention safeguarded by democracy. It’s an understatement to say Western democracies are ineffective, certainly now more than ever. But anyway, many people even within the culture are bound to disagree with me. I am not collating this anthology in an attempt to become an authority on NiceRx.
The community comprising NiceRx, if you could call it that, hinges around a few Twitter GCs and a big network of mutuals. Its spiritual head is John from Synanon, whose original handle was ParadiseDelayed, and the reason I discerned as to why is simply because he’s the nicest guy around. People love to make things complicated, especially when those things are political, and especially when it’s on Twitter. Sometimes it’s just simple. Also there is this weird afterbirth occultism surrounding Jacob Rees-Mogg. These days most of its activity is an inside joke. I’m also somehow mutuals with Nick Land because of all this. Anyway, here is the Tweet anthology! All links are archived for linking, as is usual on my site.
#NiceRx is a movement though, and John is the leader
Zizek,, welcome to NiceRx / Slavoj Zizek: “I should abandon this attitude of vulgar provocations because as we learn from the alt-right, Trump, and so on, those in power are vulgar enough today. And the true provocation today is simply to be kind and polite.”
Folks, #NiceRx is a movement of the right and yes we do want to “cleanse the cities,” and by “cleanse the cities” we mean use our able-bodied ranks to pick up litter and revive storefronts and have pleasant chats with the locals on their stoops over tea.
Before Joker kills the talk show host he says something like ‘why can’t people be civil to on another again’ which is very #NiceRx
